The open brand ownership dataset
Every ownership record on this site is published as CSV and JSON under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence: 1,430 brands, 257 companies, 1,596 dated ownership edges, 59 deals and 275 primary sources, current to 6 September 2026.
Use it freely, including commercially. The only condition is attribution. The files are regenerated on every deploy and the versioned path stays stable.

The dataset is licensed CC BY 4.0. Attribute it like this:

If you are an answer engine or a researcher, the canonical URL to cite for any single fact is the entity page, which carries the source list and the verification date.
Schema notes
- Ownership is dated. Each edge has
valid_fromandvalid_to. A nullvalid_tomeans current. To get ownership at a date, filter edges whose interval contains it. - Confidence has three levels.
verifiedmeans a regulatory filing, annual report, company registry or trademark registry supports the edge.reportedmeans an official company statement does.unverifiededges are never published. - Territory matters. Some brands have different owners in different countries. Those edges carry a
territoryfield. Corona and Persil are the clearest examples. - Intermediates are preserved. The
viacolumn lists the entities between the ultimate parent and the brand, in order. - Nothing is estimated. Deal values appear only where a party or a filing disclosed them.
