Kraft Foods acquires Cadbury (2010)
Kraft Foods completed the acquisition of Cadbury on 2 February 2010 for £11.5 billion, buying from Cadbury plc.[1]
Kraft Foods won a hostile takeover of Cadbury after a five-month battle, closing at 840 pence per share in cash and shares. Kraft closed the Somerdale factory it had promised to keep open, which led to criticism in Parliament and changes to the UK takeover code. Cadbury passed to Mondelēz in the 2012 split.
