Form 10-K

The annual report US-listed companies file with the SEC.

A Form 10-K is the comprehensive annual report a US-listed company files with the Securities and Exchange Commission. It describes the business, lists risk factors, presents audited financial statements and attaches exhibits including the subsidiary list.

For tracing brand ownership it is valuable in three places: the business description names the company's brands, the intangible assets note often names brands carried at significant value, and Exhibit 21 lists the legal entities. Foreign companies listed in the United States file a Form 20-F instead, which serves the same purpose.
