About A. Lange & Söhne

A. Lange & Söhne was expropriated by East Germany in 1948 and refounded in 1990 by the founders great-grandson after reunification. Richemont acquired it in 2000, and it is the only German house at the top of watchmaking. Its watches use untreated German silver plates and hand-engraved balance cocks, and every movement is assembled twice: once to fit, then dismantled, finished and rebuilt.
