About Bruichladdich

Bruichladdich is an Islay distillery founded in 1881, mothballed for much of the 1990s and revived in 2001 by investors who emphasised barley provenance and refused to chill-filter or colour the whisky. Rémy Cointreau acquired it in 2012. It also makes Octomore, among the most heavily peated single malts ever produced, and The Botanist gin.
