About Gerber
Gerber began making strained baby food in Fremont, Michigan in 1927, after a canner's wife found straining peas for their daughter by hand tedious enough to suggest doing it commercially. Its Gerber Baby illustration, drawn in 1928, is one of the longest-serving trademarks in American food. Nestlé acquired the business from Novartis in 2007.
