About Pine-Sol

Pine-Sol is a household cleaner created in 1929 by a Mississippi chemist working with pine oil, then abundant as a by-product of the local timber industry, and sold on the strength of both its disinfecting power and its smell. Clorox acquired it in 1990 and reformulated it away from pine oil in 2014.
