About Tanqueray

Tanqueray is a London dry gin first distilled in Bloomsbury in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray, a clergyman's son who chose distilling instead. The recipe uses four botanicals where most gins use more, and the green bottle is modelled on a fire hydrant, a shape adopted in the 1940s.
