Froot Loops is owned by WK Kellogg Co (the United States, NYSE: KLG), which was separated from Kellanova on 2 October 2023.[1][1] Before WK Kellogg Co, Froot Loops was owned by Kellanova to 2023.[2]
This ownership is reported in official statements but has not yet been matched to a regulatory filing.
Froot Loops launched in 1963 with Toucan Sam, and although the rings come in several colours they are all the same flavour, a fact confirmed by the manufacturer and by repeated blind tests. Its formulation and colouring differ between countries because of varying rules on artificial dyes.
Ferrero agreed to acquire WK Kellogg Co for $23 per share in cash, which would move the North American rights to Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes and Rice Krispies to the Italian family-owned group.
The Kellogg Company split into two listed companies: the global snacking business renamed itself Kellanova and kept Pringles and the international cereal brands, while the North American cereal business was spun off as WK Kellogg Co with the Battle Creek headquarters.
